A new art trail is coming to Birmingham for summer 2025 – and this year’s theme is our iconic bull.<\/p>\n
The Commonwealth Games<\/a>‘ ‘raging bull’ was renamed Ozzy by public vote and it seems fitting that this trail will be launching soon after Ozzy Osbourne returns to his hometown for a huge, star-studded Black Sabbath gig<\/a> in July.<\/p>\n The trail will feature a ‘stampede’ of 40 larger-than-life bull sculptures which will be dotted around key landmarks in the city.<\/p>\n Read more: Birmingham ‘Super Weekend’ approaches with world-class music, sport, food and more<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Read next: <\/strong>Audible’s Father’s Day offer lets people listen to Jeremy Clarkson’s audiobook for free<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n Remember the owls, snowmen, bears and reindeers of previous years? This is the latest event from Wild in Art but this time it feels even more poignant as it’s centred around our beloved bull.<\/p>\n It’s all in aid of Birmingham<\/a> Hospice and is sponsored by the University of Birmingham<\/a> to help mark the institution’s 125th anniversary.<\/p>\n Rebecca Richards, Bulls in the City Project Lead, said: \u201cIt\u2019s just wonderful to have an historic organisation like University of Birmingham join as a headline sponsor for our trail.<\/p>\n \u201cBulls in the City will contribute directly to the growth of the local economy this summer, bringing a huge wave of tourism to our city during the trail \u2013 University of Birmingham will be a real driver behind this as our Presenting Partner.<\/p>\n GALLERY: Sneak peek of Birmingham’s newest ‘iconic’ art trail – Bulls in the City<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThis trail will not only bring enjoyment to local people and those travelling from further afield, but it will raise vital funds for Birmingham Hospice.<\/p>\n “We are only part funded by the NHS<\/a> and this year we need to raise \u00a37.2 million to continue our vital services. Support from places like University of Birmingham is greatly appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n When is the Bulls in the City art trail coming to Birmingham?<\/p>\n The new ‘showstopping’ trail will launch on Wednesday July 16, 2025 – just before the schools break up for the long summer holidays.<\/p>\n People will be able to download maps to visit each and every bull in the city throughout the summer before it finishes on September 14, after the kids have gone back to school.<\/p>\n You can make a donation to the hospice whilst visiting the bulls.<\/p>\n Then, after the event, the bulls will be auctioned to raise more money for the hospice. The auction will take place on Thursday October 16.
