{"id":155051,"date":"2025-06-03T14:53:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-03T14:53:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/155051\/"},"modified":"2025-06-03T14:53:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T14:53:11","slug":"bid-to-make-biddulph-first-mental-health-friendly-town","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/155051\/","title":{"rendered":"Bid to make Biddulph &#8216;first&#8217; mental health friendly town"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Councillor Dave Proudlove, Labour councillor for Biddulph West, was one of those who undertook the training.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He said he lost a close friend to suicide some years ago, adding: &#8220;He was the type of person you would not have expected it to have happened to.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Proudlove said the training had been &#8220;incredibly useful&#8221;, especially in teaching him how to spot signs of mental illness, along with &#8220;the ability to listen&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;When I say listen, I don&#8217;t mean hear what someone&#8217;s got to say, I mean genuinely listen,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The training is one of the best things I&#8217;ve ever done and I urge anybody who has the opportunity to do it&#8230; it could help save somebody&#8217;s life.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Councillor Dave Proudlove, Labour councillor for Biddulph West, was one of those who undertook the training.
