Royal experts have dashed any hopes of a reconciliation<\/a> between Prince Harry and King Charles as there is still a major issue lingering \u2013 the one of trust. The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the Royal Family turned sour in 2020, when he ditched the Firm for a new life in the US with his wife, Meghan Markle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Sussexes’ various accusations and claims against the royals deepened the ongoing rift even further. But recently the Duke expressed his desire to reconcile<\/a> with his estranged family \u2013 a scenario that has been quickly dismissed by royal watchers, who claimed it would be hard for the King to reach out.<\/p>\n

Harry told the BBC last month<\/a> that his father will not speak to him and he does not know how much longer the King has left.<\/p>\n

The prince also expressed hopes of a reconciliation with his family. He said: “Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things, but there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”<\/p>\n

However, royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith claimed that while, there has been a desire to reconnect, the “underlying issue is trust”.<\/p>\n

She told People<\/a> magazine: “The King and William don\u2019t trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation.”<\/p>\n

Another author, Valentine Low, said that while Harry’s interview with the BBC<\/a> wasn’t meant to be an attack on the royals, “it would be seen as one,” adding: “It makes Charles reaching out even harder.”<\/p>\n

She added: “There is not a good angel in his ear to say, \u2018Be a good dad and make the first move.”<\/p>\n

Another royal author, Catherine Mayer, was also pessimistic regarding any royal reconciliation.<\/p>\n
