Bruno Fernandes\u2019 commitment to Manchester United should never be questioned again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2024\/25 campaign was the worst Premier League season on record for Manchester United<\/a>, but it could have been a whole lot worse without club captain Bruno Fernandes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fernandes was named United\u2019s Player of the Year<\/a> after scoring 19 goals and assisting 19 across all competitions.<\/p>\n

Saudi club Al-Hilal held talks with Fernandes<\/a> over a potential \u00a3100 million move and Fernandes\u2019 agent agreed terms<\/a> before the 30-year-old stepped in and made his final decision.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday it was confirmed that Fernandes rejected Al-Hilal\u2019s approach<\/a>, meaning he will stay with United for the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n

While United fans are delighted at Fernandes staying<\/a>, former captain Roy Keane has been nothing but critical of the Portuguese midfielder.<\/p>\n

Earlier this season, Keane called Fernandes an \u201cimposter\u201d<\/a> during a fiery rant at United\u2019s club captain.<\/p>\n

Keane questioned Fernandes\u2019 leadership, but no one can question his commitment to the club\u2019s success after he turned down an insanely lucrative contract from Saudi.<\/p>\n

Al-Hilal were willing to pay \u00a3200m to Fernandes <\/a>to lure him to Saudi, but he rejected their proposal to stay as part of Ruben Amorim\u2019s project.<\/p>\n

Fernandes is currently earning \u00a3300,000 per week<\/a> at United, but Al-Hilal\u2019s offer would have more than doubled his earnings as he enters the twilight years of his career.<\/p>\n

After the Saudi interest became concrete, Amorim made it clear he wants to keep Fernandes<\/a> and now his wish has come true.<\/p>\n

Despite Fernandes being urged to leave United<\/a>, he has stayed put at Old Trafford to help out Amorim\u2019s rebuilding project.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, Amorim wants to win the Premier League<\/a> as United head coach and while that will take time, he needs players he can trust and Fernandes is at the very top of that list.<\/p>\n

Fernandes knows he might not be at United to see the results of Amorim\u2019s long-term rebuild, but his loyalty to the Red Devils should be celebrated and rewarded.<\/p>\n

Without Fernandes, United were at risk of relegation last season, and his contributions on and off the pitch are simply priceless.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
