{"id":155586,"date":"2025-06-03T19:32:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-03T19:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/155586\/"},"modified":"2025-06-03T19:32:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T19:32:17","slug":"leigh-leopards-coach-fined-by-rfl-over-abusive-language-as-ex-warrington-wolves-man-charged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/155586\/","title":{"rendered":"Leigh Leopards coach fined by RFL over abusive language as ex-Warrington Wolves man charged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"2400\" height=\"1776\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Tony-Clubb-001.jpg\" class=\"attachment- size- wp-post-image\" alt=\"Leigh Leopards\" decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><strong>The latest RFL Complicate Update has confirmed fines for a Leigh Leopards coach whilst a former Warrington Wolves man was also charged.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All players and staff agree to comply with the RFL rules and the governing body reviews incidents with updates provided throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>Previous such updates in 2025 confirmed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriousaboutrl.com\/rfl-dish-out-four-fines-with-leeds-rhinos-and-wigan-warriors-coach-matt-peet-among-those-punished-103245\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matt Peet was hit with a fine<\/a> and a suspended two-match touchline ban for entering the referees room without invitation, thereby \u201cbreaching operational rules\u201d. Meanwhile, Ian Blease was also charged for \u2018engaging the referees\u2019 with both a fine and a suspended touchline ban handed down.<\/p>\n<p>Now, former Wigan Warriors man and current Leigh Leopards assistant coach Tony Clubb is among the latest to be fined with the RFL handing down a \u00a31,000 fine, \u00a3750 of which is suspended until the end of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<p>Clubb was sanctioned for \u201cusing foul and abusive language towards Match Officials\u201d in the club\u201ds Challenge Cup quarter-final win over Wakefield Trinity. Like Peet was, he is also handed a two-match touchline ban, also suspended until the end of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Former Warrington Wolves forward set to face RFL disciplinary<\/p>\n<p>Workington Town head coach Jonty Gorley was another handed a \u00a31,000 fine and a suspended tw0-match touchline ban for his conduct towards opposition medical staff.
