Warrington Wolves forward Paul Vaughan has addressed his future at the club with the 34-year-old off-contract at the end of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vaughan is one of several high-profile names without deals at the Halliwell Jones Stadium beyond the current season and he\u2019s also one of the Warrington Wolves players who have stepped up of late during the club\u2019s struggles, something the Australian had labelled as a \u201ctough time\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Warrington languish in eighth in Super League but they\u2019ve turned their mind to the Challenge Cup<\/a> this week with silverware on the line at Wembley on Saturday as the Wolves hope to go one better than last year.<\/p>\n

As it stands, it is the last chance that Vaughan will have to lift the Challenge Cup with Warrington Wolves given his off-contract status, however, there\u2019s been plenty of talk lately that he could be in line for a new deal and that\u2019s something he spoke about on Sky Sports\u2019\u00a0The Bench Podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Arriving ahead of the 2023 season on a two-year deal, Vaughan has already re-upped his deal once but could be set to do so again, however, he wouldn\u2019t be pinned to an answer when asked about it.<\/p>\n

Put to him that he is either set to sign a new contract or may have done so already, Vaughan responded: \u201cWe\u2019ll say guilty, I haven\u2019t signed it but we\u2019re working through a couple of things.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former State of Origin star was speaking ahead of Warrington\u2019s loss to Hull KR in Round 12 and when asked if a deal would be over the line for the podcast\u2019s release almost two weeks late, he joked: \u201cI\u2019m not sure, I\u2019ve got to read through it (his contract offer).\u201d<\/p>\n

That came after he confirmed that there \u201ccould be a contract on the table\u201d with Vaughan admitting that he and his family are \u201clooking to see what is about\u201d.<\/p>\n

When leaving the NRL, Vaughan travelled to England with his family and he explained the thought process behind that before praising his wife for her sacrifices in supporting his rugby league career.<\/p>\n

He explained: \u201cI initially told the wife that it would be a two year trip with the little kids with the hint of a lot of travel so it was an easier sell, then we extended for another year and we\u2019re sort of looking to see what\u2019s going to happen for the last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m 34, I feel great so we\u2019ll see what happens. I\u2019m not too sure but we\u2019re trying to work through something at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cShe works full time for an Australian company so it\u2019s pretty tough hours so for her to say another year is something that I definitely appreciate.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s difficult for her but once we go back there then she\u2019ll be able to go back into a full-time gig.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for him, the Warrington Wolves man insists he can play on:\u00a0\u201cI still feel great. Physically, I still feel like I\u2019m doing a fair job on the field so again, I\u2019d have to ask the missus and see what she says.\u201d<\/p>\n
