When Germany takes the (hopefully fully repaired<\/a>) pitch at the Allianz Arena against Portugal, Bayern Munich<\/a> star Leon Goretzka is expected to start in the central midfield. <\/p>\n

The 30-year-old is excited to play such an important game in front of his home crowd.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a home game for me and for a few other players. I\u2019m happy because I love playing in this stadium. I\u2019m very much looking forward to the game,\u201d Goretzka said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia<\/a>). <\/p>\n

For Goretzka, it has been a year of revival as he has played key roles for both club and country. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think much has changed. I always want maximum success, whether with Bayern or the national team – I\u2019m grateful because I know the situation I was in. I\u2019m just happy to be here again,\u201d said Goretzka. <\/p>\n

Finally, Goretzka was asked about his seldom-used Portuguese teammate, Jo\u00e3o Palhinha, who could see some minutes for Portugal. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d be happy if he plays tomorrow. I know him very well from Bayern. He didn\u2019t have an easy season, so I would be happy if he gets the chance to play tomorrow,\u201d Goretzka stated. <\/p>\n
