Prince Harry<\/a> has always spoken fondly about his children, whether that be at public events, in his memoir Spare, or on the docuseries Harry and Meghan, which was released in 2022. While the Duke of Sussex, 40, has expressed a strong desire over the years to keep his children out of the spotlight, this has not stopped him from sharing some very personal insights with the public, including details from Princess Lilibet\u2019s birth.<\/a><\/p>\n

After welcoming Prince Archie<\/a> into the world in 2019, at a time when they were still working royals, Harry and Meghan welcomed their second child into the world just over two years later on June 4, 2021 – four years ago today. The birth came just over a year after the couple quit royal life in the UK and moved to Montecito, California.<\/p>\n

Princess Lilibet<\/a> – named after the late Queen Elizabeth II<\/a> – was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, with Harry giving a very vivid description of her birth in his book.<\/p>\n

The prince wrote: \u201cWhen the doctor said it was a matter of minutes, I told Meg that I wanted mine to be the first face our little girl saw.<\/p>\n

“I slid my hands under the tiny back and neck. Gently, but firmly, as I’d seen in films, I pulled our precious daughter from that world into this, and cradled her just a moment, trying to smile at her, to see her, but honestly, I couldn’t see anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to say: Hello. I wanted to say: Where have you come from?<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to say: Is it better there? Is it peaceful? Are you frightened? Don’t be, don\u2019t be, all will be well. I’ll keep you safe.”<\/p>\n

Since she was born four years ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released very few photographs of Lilibet, who Harry said is very \u201cSpencer-like\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking about Lilibet in their self-titled Netflix<\/a> docuseries, the prince said: \u201cI see a lot of my mum in Lili. She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Harry also said that his daughter has “sort of like golden reddish hair\u201d.<\/p>\n
