Fans know Iain Armitage<\/strong><\/a> as the sweet-faced title star of Young Sheldon \u2014 but the former child actor is now a globe-trotting teen!<\/p>\n

Armitage, 16, looked all grown up in his latest Instagram post<\/a>: a pair of pics taken on a recent trip to South Africa.<\/p>\n

In the close-up photos, the Big Little Lies star displayed two intricate face paint designs \u2014 a colorful pattern on one side, and a black-and-white version on the other.<\/p>\n

“\ud83c\uddff\ud83c\udde6 Thank you, Cape Town! Your Table Mountain is one of the best most beautiful places I\u2019ve ever seen,” Armitage captioned his post.<\/p>\n

Armitage’s followers raved about the eye-catching images.<\/p>\n

“So handsome \ud83d\ude0d,” one person wrote.<\/p>\n

“Looking good :)),” a second fan declared.<\/p>\n

“The South African paint is nice\ud83e\udd29,” another commenter chimed in, with someone else agreeing, “Omg what a beautiful art on beautiful face\ud83d\ude0d.”<\/p>\n

It seems Armitage has been keeping busy since Young Sheldon ended its final season in May 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just got my pilot’s license, or my student pilot’s license,\u201d he told People<\/a> last October.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hopefully will get my private [pilot \u2019s license] when I’m 17,” he continued. Armitage went on to reveal that he’d already taken his grandmother and mother up in the air with him \u2014 in fact, he “actually turned 16 with my grandmother in the plane on my 16th birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

“We had a kind of a fun, sort of more subdued celebration in the air,” he explained. “And then right when I touched down, we had a celebration at the airport at Van Nuys, which was so much fun,” he says.<\/p>\n

Armitage’s grandma was “surprisingly completely calm and collected” while her grandson was piloting the aircraft, he added.<\/p>\n

“I was very, very impressed,” he said.<\/p>\n
