{"id":157455,"date":"2025-06-04T12:19:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-04T12:19:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/157455\/"},"modified":"2025-06-04T12:19:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T12:19:11","slug":"christian-horner-quizzed-on-yuki-tsunodas-red-bull-f1-future-amid-struggles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/157455\/","title":{"rendered":"Christian Horner quizzed on Yuki Tsunoda&#8217;s Red Bull F1 future amid struggles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Christian Horner refused to directly answer whether Red Bull could make a second <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F1<\/a> driver change amid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/f1\/racer\/975014\/yuki-tsunoda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yuki Tsunoda<\/a>&#8216;s difficult run of form.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Like all of his predecessors, Tsunoda has struggled to get close to teammate Max Verstappen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">While Tsunoda has made it into Q3 and scored points, the Spanish Grand Prix proved to be disappointing.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Tsunoda qualified last and started from the pit lane.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Red Bull blamed an \u201cincorrect setup choice\u201d for Tsunoda\u2019s poor qualifying display, even though he didn\u2019t make much progress in the race.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Speaking during the Barcelona weekend, Horner was asked if they were open to another driver change.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;I think I\u2019m going to take a leaf out of Flavio\u2019s [Briatore] book and say, \u2018I don\u2019t want to answer it&#8217;,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Look, it\u2019s early days for Yuki. He\u2019s still settling in. He\u2019s been in Q3, scored points, he\u2019s scored points from the pit lane.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;He\u2019s had a few incidents as well, so he has a long way to go. We\u2019ll decide. We\u2019ve got plenty of time on our side.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;I think the only thing that we can do is give him [Tsunoda] time and support and try and get a set-up that he\u2019s got confidence in.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;Driving these cars is all about confidence, and that\u2019s what he needs to find. I think he\u2019ll get there. He\u2019s fast. He\u2019s just got to piece it all together.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;We keep seeing flashes of performance. We just need to see him put it all together.
