{"id":157665,"date":"2025-06-04T14:09:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-04T14:09:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/157665\/"},"modified":"2025-06-04T14:09:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T14:09:09","slug":"ios-26-to-upgrade-carplay-in-two-ways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/157665\/","title":{"rendered":"iOS 26 to Upgrade CarPlay in Two Ways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While the spotlight has been on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/05\/15\/apples-carplay-ultra-now-available\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CarPlay Ultra<\/a> lately, the regular version of CarPlay is set to receive some enhancements alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/05\/28\/apple-ios-26\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">iOS 26<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/carplay-hero-dashboard.jpg\"   alt=\"carplay hero dashboard\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-969121\"\/><br \/>Apple will announce iOS 26 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/roundup\/wwdc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WWDC 2025<\/a> next week, and the software update is expected to upgrade the CarPlay experience in at least two ways.<\/p>\n<p>The first iOS 26 beta should be seeded to developers shortly after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/06\/02\/apple-readies-wwdc-2025-live-stream\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Apple&#8217;s keynote<\/a>, and the update will likely be released in September.<\/p>\n<p>There will likely be more CarPlay changes alongside iOS 26 \u2014 these are just the known ones.<\/p>\n<p>New Design<\/p>\n<p>9to5Mac this week <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2025\/06\/03\/exclusive-ios-26-messages-carplay-more\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> that at least some of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/03\/10\/ios-19-visionos-redesign-rumors\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">iOS 26&#8217;s rumored design changes<\/a> will extend to the CarPlay interface, which would make sense.<\/p>\n<p>iOS 26 is expected to feature a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/06\/02\/apple-sleek-peek\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sleeker, glass-like design<\/a> with added translucency for app icons, menus, buttons, and other elements.<\/p>\n<p>Sound Recognition for Crying Babies<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"CarPlay Sound Recognition\" width=\"1306\" height=\"718\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-950848 lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/CarPlay-Sound-Recognition.jpg\"  data- loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>CarPlay <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2024\/05\/15\/ios-18-accessibility-features-for-carplay\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gained support for Sound Recognition<\/a> with iOS 18 last year. The accessibility feature can alert drivers or passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing to horns and sirens outside of the vehicle, such as from a police car, ambulance, or fire truck.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Apple previewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/05\/13\/apple-previews-ios-19-accessibility-features\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">new accessibility features coming in iOS 26<\/a>, including an expansion of Sound Recognition for CarPlay.
