Diogo Dalot has admitted there is “no place to hide” when results are bad at Manchester United.<\/p>\n
Ruben Amorim has begun to strengthen his squad this summer, signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves, and further signings will be made to turn the club’s fortunes around next season.<\/p>\n
United just suffered the worst campaign in the club’s modern history and losing against Tottenham in the Europa League<\/a> final means there will be no European football. United want to quickly forget 2024\/2025, but the dust is only settling and Dalot recently shared his thoughts at an event in Mumbai.<\/p>\n Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Dalot departed the post-season tour in Malaysia early, so they could fly to India’s biggest city to attend commercial activities on behalf of the club.<\/p>\n Dalot spoke about the season via the Hindustan Times<\/a> and said there is no hiding place at United.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just landed and ever since we are here, we are having a lot of fun. It\u2019s great to meet fans of Manchester United<\/a> here \u2014 they are so full of passion and enthusiasm,” said Dalot.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been tough for us and tough for the fans. There were moments in the season where I felt we played well but just couldn\u2019t get the result. We need to take responsibility for that.<\/p>\n “There\u2019s no place for you to hide when you play for Manchester United. You have to match it. You have to be ready for it. We have to come back to pre-season with energy. A lot of changes are happening at the club, and it\u2019s on us to adapt, grow, and fight for what this club stands for.”<\/p>\n Dalot suffered a loss of form this season and some of his worst performances came at left-back.<\/p>\n The defender is considered versatile, but he reiterated that his strongest position is on the right. “I’m used to it now,” said Dalot about being asked to play on both sides of the defence.<\/p>\n “On the right is where I feel more comfortable, or where I grew up and played more time. But throughout your career, you have to be able to do other things and be as complete as you can.”<\/p>\n Onana also spoke at the event and was asked about replacing David de Gea as the first-choice goalkeeper. “I don’t feel pressure. It’s not the pressure, it’s an extra motivation,” he said. “We have been in the game for so long, so I don’t think we have any pressure. For sure, no. For me, it’s the opposite.”<\/p>\n Maguire added in Mumbai: “We will make a lot of changes in the summer<\/a> at the club.
