Don\u2019t expect Prince William<\/strong><\/a> and Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> to reunite while their father, King Charles III<\/strong><\/a>, is still alive \u2014 at least according to one source.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe funeral of Charles would be the first time that courtiers would imagine [them reuniting],\u201d an insider exclusively told Us Weekly in this week\u2019s cover story<\/a>. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine William would invite Harry to his coronation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Charles, 76, was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer<\/a> in January 2024. Harry, 40, seemingly acknowledged his father\u2019s ongoing health battle during a bombshell BBC interview last month<\/a> after losing his appeal<\/a> for government-funded security in the U.K.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how much longer my father has,\u201d he said, in part.<\/p>\n

According to the same source, William, 42, was \u201cabsolutely appalled\u201d<\/a> by those comments and feels like Harry stooped \u201cso low.\u201d<\/p>\n

Royal commentator Amanda Matta<\/strong> weighed in as well, speculating that Harry and William would have to \u201cengage in open, honest dialogue\u201d for any progress to be made.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny reconciliation between the brothers would require so much more than just a single conversation,\u201d Matta told Us. \u201cIt would demand a real reckoning with the emotional damage on both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matta noted that the \u201cball seems to be in William\u2019s court\u201d at this point, and any conversation between them \u201cwould likely happen privately\u201d instead of on a public scale.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t just about two brothers falling out like you and I would understand it. This complex and widening rift is about two very different worldviews,\u201d Matta continued. \u201cOne is rooted in preserving tradition, the other in breaking from them when they start to cause harm.\u201d<\/p>\n

A \u201cbasic working relationship\u201d between William and Harry \u2014 and even their respective wives, Princess Kate Middleton<\/strong> and Meghan Markle<\/strong> \u2014 would be \u201chard to rebuild,\u201d Matta added. \u201cRight now, it feels like they\u2019re speaking entirely different languages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Invictus Games founder seemingly sparked a family feud when he and wife Meghan Markle left England and relocated to the United States. Harry stated in his now-infamous BBC interview<\/a> that his father \u201cwon\u2019t speak to me\u201d<\/a> and pleaded for a reconciliation with his family following his courtroom loss. He has been in a legal battle to get it back, even alluding that his father had something to do with the decision before losing his appeal last month.<\/p>\n
