Singer Jessie J said she has been diagnosed with \u201cearly breast cancer\u201d and plans to undergo surgery following her performance at this month\u2019s Summertime Ball.<\/p>\n

The Price Tag singer, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, said in an Instagram video she has spent much of her recent time \u201cin and out of tests\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old said: \u201cI was diagnosed with early breast cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cCancer sucks in any form, but I\u2019m holding on to the word \u2018early\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pop star said she had announced her diagnosis publicly to help her process the news, and to show solidarity with others who are going through a similar experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to be open and share it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I\u2019m not processing it because I\u2019m working so hard.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I\u2019m an open book.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse \u2014 that\u2019s the bit that kills me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cThe timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time.<\/p>\n

The Price Tag singer welcomed her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in 2023 (Ian West\/PA)<\/p>\n

\u201cBut honestly I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don\u2019t want this to be any different.\u201d<\/p>\n

The star received messages of support from celebrity friends including The Hit List presenter Rochelle Humes, former Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock and rapper Wretch 32.<\/p>\n

Humes said: \u201cWe love you so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pinnock added: \u201cSending you so much love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wretch 32, whose real name is Jermaine Scott, said: \u201cContinued strength and guidance, you\u2019re loved and you\u2019re cared for, you fight my gangster.\u201d<\/p>\n

The London-born singer welcomed her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in 2023, having miscarried in November 2021.<\/p>\n

She has battled with ill health throughout her life, having been diagnosed with a heart condition aged eight, suffering a minor stroke aged 18 and having briefly gone deaf in 2020.<\/p>\n

Jessie J is scheduled to perform at Capital\u2019s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium on Sunday June 15.<\/p>\n

Claire Taylor, chief nursing officer at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: \u201cReceiving a cancer diagnosis is a life-changing moment for anybody and our thoughts are with Jessie and her family.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer openness in sharing her story will not only bring comfort to others who are facing a similar situation, it will also raise vital awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early diagnosis.<\/p>\n
