Fire <\/a>crews were called to a blaze at Fort Kinnaird<\/a> as shops were forced to close early on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

An electrical substation fire saw two fire appliances dispatched, after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received the report at around 5.34pm. It’s understood that there have not been any casualties.<\/p>\n

Locals <\/a>saw smoke billowing into the sky. A car dealership, among other shops at the centre, were forced to close early due to a power cut.<\/p>\n

An SFRS spokesperson said at around 7pm: “We received reports of an electrical substation fire at Fort Kinnaird at around 524pm.<\/p>\n

“Two appliances were dispatched, we remain in attendance.”<\/p>\n

Western Volkswagen said: “There has been a fire and power cut at Fort Kinnaird. All telephone lines are down and the dealership is closed.<\/p>\n

“Sorry for any inconvenience caused from this. We should be back open from 7am tomorrow morning as normal.”<\/p>\n

Vets4Pets at Fort Kinnaird added: “Our computers and phones are down.<\/p>\n

“There has been a fire near Fort Kinnaird that has affected power to our building. We are hopeful this will be resolved by start of day tomorrow.”<\/p>\n
