King Charles, in partnership with Oliver\u2019s Travels, has transformed one of the properties on this vast 20,000-acre estate into a holiday rental. Called the Folly at Sandringham<\/a>, the three-bedroom turreted cottage is nearly as old as the main royal residence (which itself was a gift from Queen Victoria to her eldest son<\/a>, the future Edward VII, in 1862) and was originally used as a place to host ladies for tea\u2014and may also have been where Edward met up with his mistress, the British actress Lillie Langtry.<\/p>\n

The house\u2019s most charming period details, from the stone hearths to the arched entryways, have been preserved, while other upgrades\u2014William Morris wallpaper, vintage furniture, antiques from the royal family\u2019s private collection\u2014further enhance the whole vibe of a historic blue-blooded country pile (with Wifi and a smart TV, of course). The real perk of the place, though, is essentially having all of Sandringham Estate, with its woodlands and gardens and trails, as your backyard.
