Chris Martin<\/a> and Dakota Johnson<\/a> have split after nearly eight years of dating, it has been claimed.<\/p>\n

The Coldplay frontman, 48, and the Fifty Shades of Grey actress, 35, were first linked in 2017, but have remained fiercely private of their relationship<\/a> in that time.<\/p>\n

Last year, they were faced with intense speculation that they had gone their separate ways<\/a>, but swiftly squashed the rumors.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the pair have now decided to call time on their seven-year, on-off romance for good.<\/p>\n

Multiple insiders confirmed the split to People Magazine<\/a>, with one source stating: \u2018It feels final this time\u2019.<\/p>\n

Dakota and Chris \u2013 who shares two children with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a> \u2013 have yet to address the claims publicly.<\/p>\n

The couple sent fans into meltdown when they were spotted on a date night in LA nearly a decade ago, with the Madame Web star<\/a> popping up in the crowd at a Coldplay concert the following month.<\/p>\n

In 2020, they were met with speculation of an engagement after she was pictured wearing a huge sparkler on that finger, but they refused to confirm reports at the time.<\/p>\n

Last year, Dakota gave a very rare insight into their private life in an interview, raving about how much she loves watching Chris perform on stage with his bandmates \u2013 having been spotted at numerous gigs in the past.<\/p>\n

She also opened up about her bond with his children, Apple and Moses \u2013 who he welcomed during his marriage to Gwyneth, adding: \u2018I love those kids like my life depends on it.<\/p>\n

Despite staying under the radar, they have faced scrutiny regarding their romance over the last few years \u2013 including the bizarre moment a struggling fan claimed that Chris told her that he\u2019s \u2018single\u2019 last spring.<\/p>\n

The generous singer took a moment to give the woman in question a lift at Radio 1\u2019s Big Weekend last May \u2013 and she later unpacked their \u2018nice chat\u2019 on Twitter, alleging that he claimed to be \u2018single\u2019.<\/p>\n

Dakota quickly poured cold water on the reports<\/a> when she was pictured taking in Coldplay\u2019s headlining set at Glastonbury from the side of the stage just a few weeks later.<\/p>\n

\u2018They\u2019ve had ups and downs, but now they\u2019re definitely back on,\u2019 an insider told People Magazine at the time, adding that they were \u2018going strong\u2019.<\/p>\n
