Trams were diverted in Manchester city centre this morning after a section of track flooded.<\/p>\n

The region has been hit by a deluge of heavy rain this morning (Thursday).<\/p>\n

And the wet weather<\/a> has led to disruption on one Metrolink<\/a> line.<\/p>\n

Due to ‘high standing water’, services heading in one direction on the East Didsbury to Rochdale line were not calling at Exchange Square.<\/p>\n

The Bee Network website said: “Due to high standing water in the City Centre, services travelling from East Didsbury<\/a> towards Rochdale<\/a> will operate via Market Street<\/a> and Shudehill and will not call at Exchange Square at this time.<\/p>\n

“Services travelling from Rochdale towards East Didsbury are not affected.”<\/p>\n

It had re-opened by 9.30am.<\/p>\n

There is also widespread disruption on some rail lines in and out of Piccadilly station this morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Guide Bridge in Tameside<\/a> and Romiley in Stockport<\/a>.<\/p>\n
