Liverpool have already been linked with a number of strikers since it became evident that they\u2019d need a new number nine this summer. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Darwin Nunez<\/a> was brought in a couple of seasons ago to try and become the Reds\u2019 talisman, and while he\u2019s had the odd good performance here and there, the Uruguay international has often left a lot to be desired. <\/p>\n

Saudi Pro League clubs have been linked with an interest in Nunez<\/a>, with his Liverpool career feeling as good as over, especially after he only managed to net seven goals across all competitions this term. <\/p>\n

Indeed, Liverpool<\/a> are about to spend a hefty chunk of change on the transfer of Florian Wirtz<\/a>, but with the way things are headed, they should still have plenty of money in their war chest to improve their ranks. <\/p>\n

Liverpool could enter the race for Benjamin Sesko if Alexander Isak doesn\u2019t join<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak has once again been one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League, with Liverpool the most likely to acquire Isak\u2019s services<\/a>. <\/p>\n

However, seeing as though Newcastle managed to get themselves back into the Champions League, a transfer feels less likely, especially with the price tag they\u2019ve slapped on his head. <\/p>\n

Hugo Ekitike is another player who has been mentioned<\/a>, but the Frenchman\u2019s price is a little out of reach at the moment. <\/p>\n

Hence why, in a recent interview with The Football Terrace Podcast, Ben Jacobs has shared that Liverpool could enter the race for RB Leipzig\u2019s Benjamin Sesko. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest question mark will be over the number nine and if they can genuinely go for Alexander Isak,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWill they drop the \u00a3100m that Frankfurt are asking for Hugo Ekitike, they could even enter the race for Benjamin Sesko, even though it feels like Arsenal are more advanced on that one at the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Benjamin Sesko could be a good alternative to Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike<\/p>\n

Sesko, Isak and Ekitike are all more than solid striker options that Liverpool could explore over the next few months. <\/p>\n

Indeed, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz have done an immense job at filling in when needed, but with Diaz potentially moving to Barcelona<\/a>, attacking reinforcements are needed desperately.<\/p>\n

Isak would be the best option of the three, but with Newcastle competing in the Champions League and the talisman being their best player, it\u2019s hard to see how anything but a mammoth bid would pry him away from St James\u2019 Park. <\/p>\n

Ekitike<\/a> is another solid option, but with a price tag of around \u00a3100million for a player who\u2019s only had one prolific season, that also seems a bit steep. <\/p>\n

That leaves Sesko. Alan Shearer has lauded the striker in the past<\/a> for his movement and keen eye for goal, and with the way his strengths line up with Slot\u2019s<\/a> tactics, it feels like a match made in heaven. <\/p>\n
