Thieves have stolen hundreds of pounds from one victim and are suspected of stealing more after targeting a cashpoint outside a Birmingham<\/a> Post Office.<\/p>\n The thieves are believed to have placed a device over the card slot in the cashpoint at the Lozells<\/a> Post Office in Lozells Road last Thursday, (May 29).<\/p>\n They have then stolen cards, obtained PIN numbers and used the cards to withdraw cash.<\/p>\n Read more: Armed police raid home shutting down main road as firearms arrest made<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Shakil Ahmed said his brother was caught by the scam after one of the thieves beckoned him to use the machine.<\/p>\n His brother put his card in but could not get it out. One of the suspected thieves told him it was stuck.<\/p>\n He later realised the two had used his card to make two withdrawals, one for \u00a3251 and another for \u00a3201.<\/p>\n Get breaking news on <\/strong>BirminghamLive WhatsApp<\/strong><\/a>, click the link to join<\/strong><\/p>\n Shakil told BirminghamLive: \u201cMy brother was actually waiting behind one of the men at the cashpoint.<\/p>\n \u201cHe let my brother go and use the machine.<\/p>\n \u201cWe now know he has a device on it, and when you put your card in, the screen went blank.<\/p>\n \u201cA guy at the bus stop said \u2018it\u2019s probably got stuck in the machine\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cThey took the card and made the withdrawals, taking over \u00a3450.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile my brother was in the Post Office, he got a notification that money had come off the card.<\/p>\n \u201cMy brother rang the fraud department of his bank and notified them. They have sent him a form.<\/p>\n \u201cWe asked for the CCTV footage and the man who had been in front of my brother’s number of cards on him and had been trying them.\u201d<\/p>\n The two men were wearing caps and Covid-style face masks.<\/p>\n Read more: Three men arrested following death of pensioner near retail park<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Shakil described his brother, who lives in Lozells, as \u2018vulnerable\u2019, having fallen and broken his shoulder and cheekbone, and was unable to use one of his arms.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cMy brother was quite distressed to be honest.<\/p>\n \u201cI went straight down there and when we got back he started crying.<\/p>\n \u201cHe hasn\u2019t been well after falling about a month ago. And has had to go back in hospital.<\/p>\n \u201cThe man had a lot of cards on him. You could actually see the guy taking the cards out of his pocket on the CCTV footage.<\/p>\n \u201cI drove around looking for them but it\u2019s a good thing I never caught them.<\/p>\n \u201cI was fuming.
