FILM crews are set to descend on Glasgow, with numerous city centre streets due to be closed for the filming of Spider-Man 4.<\/p>\n

With its working title\u00a0Blue Oasis, the production has already generated excitement amongst locals after notification letters were delivered earlier this week.<\/p>\n

The notifications state that production crews are \u201cworking towards\u201d filming on Bothwell Street, St Vincent Street, Waterloo Street, and Oak Street through to Richmond Street.<\/p>\n

Some scenes being shot will reportedly \u201cinvolve vehicles on the road\u201d, with crews anticipating that Bothwell Street will be the focal point.<\/p>\n

The thoroughfare is set to be closed to vehicles between Pitt Street and Hope Street for approximately one week to facilitate filming.<\/p>\n

It is understood that the Glasgow-based shoot for the upcoming Marvel blockbuster will commence in mid-August.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man 4, officially titled\u00a0Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will see Tom Holland reprise his role as Spider-Man.<\/p>\n

With its release date scheduled for July 2026, the eagerly awaited sequel is to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.<\/p>\n

It is believed that\u00a0Stranger Things<\/a>\u00a0actress Sadie Sink has been cast to star<\/a> alongside Holland.<\/p>\n

Tom Holland<\/a> previously revealed that\u00a0Spider-Man: Brand New Day\u00a0will begin filming in the summer<\/a> of 2025.<\/p>\n

He shared the exciting news during an appearance on\u00a0The Tonight Show<\/a> Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a>\u00a0back in October 2024.<\/p>\n

This news comes a week after the announcement<\/a> that another Hollywood film, starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega<\/a>, is also set to be filmed in the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The untitled project, directed by JJ Abrams, is expected to lead to further road closures throughout Glasgow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rumours are swirling that director Abrams’ new film is an 80s throwback loosely inspired by The Last Starfighter, but the title remains unknown.<\/p>\n

The motion picture will also feature\u00a0Wednesday\u00a0star Jenna Ortega,\u00a0Sex Education<\/a>\u00a0actress Emma Mackey, and\u00a0Top Gun: Maverick\u00a0actor Glen Powell.<\/p>\n

Back in November, Glasgow was transformed into a dystopian New York<\/a> as filming began for\u00a0The Running Man, a reboot of the classic Arnold Schwarzenegger<\/a> film.<\/p>\n

Glen Powell was spotted filming in and around the city and even visited The Locale in Charing Cross for a wrap party<\/a>.<\/p>\n
