Water rescue units and emergency services crews descended on the River Roch in Bury on Thursday night (June 5).<\/p>\n
Fire crews were called to reports that a man was on the wrong side of the bridge near to Waterfold Business Park at around 8.50pm.<\/p>\n
Technical response and water incident units were called to the scene along Waterfold Lane along with paramedics.<\/p>\n
Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group <\/strong>HERE<\/a><\/p>\n After around an hour, the man was rescued from the bridge and brought back to safety.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: \u201cAt around 8.50pm today (Thursday 5 June) fire crews were called to reports of a man on the wrong side of the bridge near Waterfold Business Park, Bury<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cTwo fire engines from Bury and Whitefield<\/a> along with the Technical Response Unit from Leigh and the Water Incident Unit from Heywood<\/a> quickly attended the scene.<\/p>\n \u201cCrews worked alongside Greater Manchester Police<\/a> and North West Ambulance Service to rescue the man from the bridge.
