Prince William faces tough decision for Harry as King\u2019s hopes falter<\/p>\n
Prince William is now faced with a huge responsibility to fulfil his cancer-stricken father\u2019s final wish.<\/p>\n
However, it appears that King Charles\u2019s hopes to see his two sons together in his lifetime dwindles as tensions escalate between the royals and the Sussexes.<\/p>\n
The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex have been estranged since the past two years \u2013 right after Harry\u2019s bombshell memoir, Spare, dropped in 2023.<\/p>\n
Now royal sources reveal that the only time the two brothers would finally reunite would be a devastating event for the royal family.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe funeral of Charles would be the first time that courtiers would imagine [William and Harry reuniting],\u201d an insider told Us Weekly. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine William would invite Harry to his coronation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charles once made a heartbreaking request during a \u201csecret meeting\u201d in 2021, which Harry cited in Spare.<\/p>\n
a discussion between Charles and his two sons turned sour as William and Harry got \u201cheated\u201d. As the King intervened, he begged his sons not to \u201cmake [his] final years a misery\u201d as they continued to fight.<\/p>\n
The source also said that William was \u201cabsolutely appalled\u201d by his brother making a comment about their father\u2019s health when the Palace had been working hard to reassure the public about his good progress. <\/p>\n
He believed that Harry had stooped \u201cso low.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, royal commentator Amanda Matta speculated that if the warring brothers would \u201cengage in open, honest dialogue\u201d only then any progress can be made.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny reconciliation between the brothers would require so much more than just a single conversation,\u201d Matta explained. \u201cIt would demand a real reckoning with the emotional damage on both sides.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also noted that the \u201cball seems to be in William\u2019s court\u201d at this point, and any conversation between them \u201cwould likely happen privately\u201d instead of on a public scale.<\/p>\n
The expert also pointed out that this is a deep-rooted issue that goes beyond family ties. She said that the \u201ccomplex and widening rift is about two very different worldviews\u201d.<\/p>\n
