Here\u2019s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What\u2019s On calendar here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n We start this week at the Salvation Army Charity Shop<\/strong><\/a> on Hunslet Hall Road LS11 who are holding a yard\/jumble sale<\/strong> on Saturday 10am-1pm. Bacon\/sausage butties hot drinks and cake are being served too.<\/p>\n Leeds Dads<\/strong><\/a> are holding a free Soft Play<\/strong> session, 10am-12pm on Saturday morning at Little Angels behind the Tommy Wass pub, LS11 7HL. This for dads and pre-school children and there\u2019s free tea and toast!<\/p>\n Volunteers<\/strong><\/a> will be meeting at 10am on Saturday at Hunslet Cemetery<\/strong>, Middleton Road, to carry out various tidying up activities. New people are always welcome and equipment is provided.<\/p>\n The Church of the Nazarene<\/strong><\/a> host a coffee morning with affordable breakfast<\/strong> on Saturday morning, 10am-12pm. Lupton Street, Hunslet, LS10 2QR.<\/p>\n Join a Belle Isle estate litter pick<\/strong> on Saturday morning, meeting Windmill shops 10:30am-12:30pm. Equipment provided.<\/p>\n Head to Skelton Grange Environment Centre<\/strong><\/a> in Stourton on Saturday, 11am-4pm, for their Big Wild Play Out<\/strong>, an annual celebration of playing outside. Explore the meadows, woodland and ponds, and meet some of the creatures that live on their beautiful site. The green oasis beside the River Aire, just 2 miles from Leeds City Centre, is a former industrial site that has been transformed into a haven for wildlife and people. The cafe will be open for home-made cakes and a cuppa \u2013 or bring your own picnic! The event is free but donations are much appreciated. Skelton Grange Environment Centre is on Skelton Grange Road (over the bridge) LS10 1RS.<\/p>\n Saturday sees Hunslet Nelson Cricket Club<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Second XI take on Hartshead Moors CC Second XI at their Gipsy Lane ground, LS11 5TT starting at 12:30pm. Then on Sunday at 1pm the Sunday First XI play Yeadon CC, also at home.<\/p>\n On Saturday afternoon the Beeston Repair Caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> launches. Bring broken electricals, cloths needing alterations, a bike that needs attention. The volunteer fixers will do their best to mend them. 1-4pm at St Luke\u2019s CARES shop, 246 Dewsbury Road, LS11 6JQ.<\/p>\n The Tower Works Street Fest<\/strong><\/a> continues on Saturday and Sunday, 12-9pm, off Water Lane in Holbeck. You will find fresh produce and street food to handmade crafts, original art, craft beer, specialty coffee, live music, and so much more.<\/p>\n Featuring sqwonky puppets, odd-automata and a slew of charity-shop rejects, Pixiematosis<\/strong> is not unlike watching a lost episode of Bagpuss, filmed by the Tales of the Unexpected crew\u2026 or witnessing Fingermouse being folded up and used to stop a pub table wobbling. The Warehouse In Holbeck is on Crosby Street, LS11 9RQ.<\/p>\n St Luke\u2019s Church<\/strong><\/a>, Malvern Road, Beeston Hill, LS11 8PD are serving up their monthly family breakfast at 9:30am, you can stay for morning worship at 10:30am, but you\u2019re not obliged to.<\/p>\n The South Leeds Community Kitchen<\/strong><\/a> will be cooking up a free meal on Sunday, 4-5:45pm, at St Mary\u2019s Church, Town Street, Beeston (opposite Nisa). Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n Places are available on a Women\u2019s Computer Course<\/strong> starting on Tuesday. The six week course is running at Asha Neighbourhood Project<\/strong><\/a> in Beeston (LS11 6JG) on Tuesday afternoons from 12-3pm. The course is free to women on Universal Credit. Women can receive information, support, some freebies, and the chance to make new friends in a safe and confidential supportive environment. Refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n On Wednesday evening there is a talk by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission<\/strong> at Hunslet Community Hub & Library (LS10 2NS) from 6-7pm as part of the Armed Forces Festival. Book free tickets here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n And selections of photographs from Leeds GATE\u2019s Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month \u2018Dreams and Songs to Sing\u2019<\/strong> are on display at Hunslet Community Hub & Library throughout June.<\/p>\n Holbeck Together<\/strong><\/a> host their monthly Wellbeing Breakfast<\/strong> on Thursday, 10-11am at St Matthew\u2019s Community Centre, LS11 9NR. Pop along for food, advice and support from varios local agencies.<\/p>\n Fruit Works Co-op<\/strong><\/a> are transforming the field behind Belle Isle Post Office into a thriving tree nursery and forest garden. Come along to the monthly Action Days<\/strong> to give them a hand. Equipment and refreshments are provided. Meet at the gates next to the Post Office on Belle Isle Parade. The next session is on Thursday from 12:30-4pm.<\/p>\n
