West Midlands Police<\/a> officers from the Neighbourhood Crime Team identified the offender and he was arrested.<\/p>\nDuring the arrest, a zombie knife was also found in his possession.<\/p>\n
The teenager was charged with multiple offences and remanded to court.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, June 3, at Birmingham Youth Court, he pleaded guilty to possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, robbery, and possession of an offensive weapon.<\/p>\n
He will be sentenced next month.<\/p>\n
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Tackling robbery remains one of our force’s top priorities and we are committed to identifying and taking action against offenders who inflict harm on our communities.”<\/p>\n
In September, West Midlands Police urged people to hand over zombie-style knives and machetes after it became illegal to own.<\/p>\n
Insp Colin Gallier previously said: “We’ve seen the tragic consequences of someone carrying a knife, gun or other weapon too many times.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey can have a devastating and life-changing impact on so many people.<\/p>\n
“We have dedicated teams working day in, day out, to keep taking weapons off the streets.”<\/p>\n
