POLICE have<\/strong> sealed off a hotel in Glasgow city centre amid a major ongoing emergency incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cops<\/a>\u00a0cordoned off Sandman Signature Hotel on West George Street, blocking access to the public.<\/p>\n

Multiple police<\/a> vehicles as well as several units from the Scottish Fire<\/a> and Rescue<\/a> Service were spotted at the scene.<\/p>\n

Officers say they were first called to the hotel, which is also close to Holland Street, at around 2.10pm yesterday.<\/p>\n

But units are still stationed at the hotel today, with crews spotted on the street this morning.<\/p>\n

Blue<\/a> tape has also been erected across both ends of the street blocking anyone from accessing the hotel.<\/p>\n

No one is being allowed access to get through this section of the road.<\/p>\n

Two police vans are currently sitting on the bottom of the road in front of the blue tape.<\/p>\n

And a fire engine is parked on the opposite side near the entrance of the hotel.<\/p>\n

It is clear what sparked the emergency response.<\/p>\n

However, officers confirmed that they received reports of “a concern for person” at the hotel yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The force also explained that while the incident is still ongoing, it has been contained to the hotel.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland<\/a> spokesperson said: \u201cWe were made aware of a concern for person at a hotel on West George Street in Glasgow<\/a> around 2.10pm on Saturday, 12 April, 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe incident remains ongoing and is contained to the property<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmergency services remain at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> confirmed that it has one unit at the scene.<\/p>\n

The Sandman Signature Hotel has been contacted for comment.<\/p>\n
