The new edition of 1996\u2019s <a data-offer-url=\"https:\/\/ffm.to\/miccitysons\" class=\"external-link\" data-event-click=\"{&quot;element&quot;:&quot;ExternalLink&quot;,&quot;outgoingURL&quot;:&quot;https:\/\/ffm.to\/miccitysons&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/ffm.to\/miccitysons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mic City Sons<\/a> is out July 25. It includes a remastered version of the original 12-song record, along with 12 rarities and previously unreleased tracks (such as a \u201cRock Version\u201d of the Elliott Smith classic \u201cChristian Brothers\u201d). See the tracklist and a teaser video for the reissue below.<\/p>\n<p>The surviving members of Heatmiser\u2014vocalist and guitarist Neil Gust, bassist Sam Coomes, and drummer Tony Lash\u2014decided to reissue Mic City Sons after working with Third Man on <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/reviews\/albums\/heatmiser-the-music-of-heatmiser\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Music of Heatmiser anthology<\/a>. \u201cI started to go through and found stuff that was pretty much finished, but just never mixed, and some other things that we had run out of time to fully develop,\u201d Lash stated in a press release. \u201cIt brought me back to that time in a really visceral way. It made me appreciate this creative space and creative life that we were able to sustain there for a little bit. If only we could have somehow worked our way through all the interpersonal issues.
