Manchester United<\/a> have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> following Tottenham’<\/a>s decision to sack manager Ange Postecoglou.<\/p>\n Spurs defeated Ruben Amorim<\/a>\u2019s side in last month\u2019s Europa League<\/a> final, securing a spot in next season\u2019s Champions League<\/a>. However, United\u2019s focus has quickly shifted to the transfer market as they look to build on their current squad ahead of the new campaign.<\/p>\n One of United’s primary targets this summer – after already securing Wolves forward Matheus Cunha<\/a> – is Mbeumo. The Cameroon international has been with Brentford since 2019 and is now the subject of strong interest from the Manchester club.<\/p>\n While United have yet to agree a fee with Brentford, personal terms are not expected to be an issue. A report from The Athletic <\/a>earlier this week confirmed the player\u2019s intention to complete a move to Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tottenham\u2019s anticipated pursuit of Brentford boss Thomas Frank could further encourage Mbeumo to seek a new challenge this summer. Spurs confirmed on Friday that they had parted ways with Postecoglou, who had spent two seasons in charge.<\/p>\n Despite Postecoglou securing European silverware, the club’s hierarchy deemed it insufficient, citing a need for change following a full-season performance review.<\/p>\n It remains to be seen who will replace Postecoglou, but Brentford\u2019s Frank has emerged as the frontrunner.<\/p>\n Widely regarded as one of the most exciting managers in the Premier League<\/a>, Frank has built a reputation for overachieving with limited resources.
