Manchester United could benefit from a sell-on clause they inserted in the deal to sell Anthony Elanga to Nottingham Forest two years ago as the forward continues to be linked with a mega-money move to Newcastle United.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old left United in 2023 to join the East Midlands outfit and has gone from strength to strength at the City Ground.<\/p>\n
In the 2024\/25 season, the Swede scored six goals and laid on four assists as Forest secured European qualification for the first time since the 1994\/1995 campaign.<\/p>\n
Sadly for Forest, though, Mail Sport <\/a>reports that Newcastle United have been keeping a close eye on Elanga’s development and on Friday made an enquiry about his availability this summer.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Man United handed potential Bryan Mbeumo transfer boost after major statement made<\/a>READ MORE: Lamine Yamal supports Man United forward Marcus Rashford amid Barcelona transfer links<\/a><\/p>\n The report claims that the Magpies, who secured Champions League<\/a> qualification via a fifth-place finish in the Premier League<\/a> this season, are now “pursuing a move” for the winger, who Forest value at “upwards” of \u00a350m.<\/p>\n If Forest were to part ways with Elanga this summer, it would represent a healthy bit of profit after they signed the Sweden international for less than \u00a320m less than two years ago.<\/p>\n If he is sold, some of the transfer fee would be owed to United after the Reds inserted a sell-on clause in the deal<\/a> that took him to the City Ground in August 2023.<\/p>\n As it stands, the terms of the sell-on clause have not been revealed.
