{"id":165504,"date":"2025-06-07T17:22:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-07T17:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/165504\/"},"modified":"2025-06-07T17:22:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-07T17:22:10","slug":"russia-is-already-at-war-with-great-britain-defence-adviser-warns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/165504\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia is already at war with Great Britain, defence adviser warns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain is at war with Russia already, one of the authors of the<br \/>\ngovernment\u2019s strategic defence review has warned, while arguing<br \/>\nthat we can no longer depend on the US as a reliable ally,<br \/>\n<strong>Azernews<\/strong> reports.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Fiona Hill, who served as the White House\u2019s chief Russia<br \/>\nadviser during Donald Trump\u2019s first term in office, said the UK is<br \/>\nin \u201cpretty big trouble\u201d, warning that the country is stuck between<br \/>\n\u201cthe rock\u201d of Russia and the \u201chard place\u201d of an increasingly<br \/>\nunreliable US under Mr Trump.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after the government\u2019s strategic defence review &#8211;<br \/>\nunveiled last week &#8211; found that the armed forces are not ready to<br \/>\nfight opponents like Russia or China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia has hardened as an adversary in ways that we probably<br \/>\nhadn\u2019t fully anticipated,\u201d Dr Hill told the Guardian, concluding<br \/>\nthat \u201cRussia is at war with us\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Arguing that the Kremlin has been \u201cmenacing the UK in various<br \/>\ndifferent ways\u201d for years, she pointed to \u201cthe poisonings,<br \/>\nassassinations, sabotage operations, all kinds of cyber-attacks and<br \/>\ninfluence operations.
