Fortnite<\/a> developer Epic Games<\/a> has announced the release date for update 36.00, which ushers in Chapter 6, Season 3.<\/p>\n

Just moments after the end of the Death Star Sabotage event<\/a>, Epic Games has taken Fortnite offline for the start of the new season.<\/p>\n

Indeed, according to Epic Games, Chapter 6, Season 3 has a June 7 release date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC and Android.<\/p>\n

The new season will kick off after server downtime comes to an end. The game was taken offline at 7.30pm BST UK time.<\/p>\n

Epic explains more: “Following the Death Star Sabotage Live Event, Fortnite will go into downtime at 2:30 PM ET. Look forward to v36.00 releasing later this evening!” reads an Epic Games tweet.<\/p>\n

As Epic Games points out, the new season will begin later this evening on June 7. Hopefully this means downtime won’t last much more than a couple of hours.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the new season, update 36.00 introduces a superhero theme to Fortnite Battle Royale. This includes\u00a0new Battle Pass skins include Superman and Robin.<\/p>\n

In addition to Superman and Robin, upcoming Battle Pass and Item Shop skins include Synthwave, Myst, Storm Beast, Killswitch and Chameleon.<\/p>\n

As for the Season 3 map, fans can explore new and returning locations such as Supernova Academy and Utopia City.<\/p>\n

Other POIs include Demon’s Domain, Shogun’s Solitude, Shining Span, Outpost Enclave and Kappa Kappa Factory.<\/p>\n

That’s on top of Canyon Crossing, Crime City, Lonewolf Lair, Flooded Frogs, Outlaw OasisFoxy Floodgate and Brutal Boxcars. You can see the map above.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, new items are said to include the Wingshot Grappler, the Spire Rifle, Myst Gauntlets, Killswitch Revolvers and Deadeye DMR.<\/p>\n

That’s on top of the Enhanced Spire Rifle, Hyperburst Pistol, Kor’s Deadeye DMR, Unstable Frostfire Shotgun, Unstable Voltage Burst Pistol and Unstable Yoink Shotgun.<\/p>\n

It’s also believed that superhero dog Krypto will also join the game as the first companion pet.<\/p>\n

Finally, some fans have discovered new crossovers coming to Fortnite in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
