A WOMAN has been shot dead by armed cops after attacking people with a knife in a square used for Oktoberfest.<\/p>\n

The perpetrator, 30, reportedly stabbed a 56-year-old man before then attacking a 25-year-old woman in Theresienwiese, Munich.<\/a><\/p>\n

Cops shot the woman – who is said to be Bulgarian – with a service weapon on the corner of St Pauls Square and Bavariang.<\/p>\n

She died in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery, Bild reports.<\/p>\n

The area currently remains cordoned off to the public with armed cops alongside Munich’s Criminal Investigation Department at the scene.<\/p>\n

Sniffer dogs are also on the hunt for any clues while bandages were harrowingly seen on the ground at the Oktoberfest site.<\/p>\n

The motive behind the attack remains unknown.<\/p>\n

Joachim Herrman, Bavaria’s Interior Minister, told Bild: “I am very grateful to the Munich police for their swift intervention and stopping the knife attacker.<\/p>\n

“Her death is regrettable, but unfortunately, it was probably unavoidable.”<\/p>\n

According to cops, the victims suffered “minor injuries”.<\/p>\n

Munich Police said in a statement: “On Saturday, June 7, 2025, the Munich police were notified at around 7:45 p.m that a woman had injured a person with a knife in the Theresienwiese area.<\/p>\n

“According to current information, she injured a 56-year-old man with a knife in the Westendstra\u00dfe area. Shortly thereafter, she also injured a 25-year-old woman with a knife near Schwanthaler H\u00f6he.<\/p>\n

“When the perpetrator was encountered by officers in the Bavariaring area at St Pauls-Platz and was about to be arrested, police used firearms.<\/p>\n

“The woman was injured and subsequently taken to a hospital. She died there shortly thereafter. The woman was a 30-year-old resident of Munich.<\/p>\n

“The further investigation was taken over on site by Police Department 11.<\/p>\n

“Regarding the police use of firearms, the investigation is being conducted by the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office.<\/p>\n

“Further verified information cannot be provided at this time, as the necessary investigations are currently underway by the Criminal Investigation Department.”<\/p>\n

Just a few hours prior, at least five people were injured after a car ploughed into a crowd<\/a> in Germany.<\/p>\n

A five-year-old girl is understood to be among the wounded after the horror crash in Passau.<\/p>\n

The driver’s wife, 38, was also hurt, according to\u00a0Bild<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is unclear if the driver intentionally drove into the crowd, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Three people were seriously injured, according to a police spokesperson.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred around 3.30pm near the main train station in the\u00a0Bavarian\u00a0city.<\/p>\n

“At this time, it cannot be ruled out that the man deliberately drove the vehicle into the group of people,” police told local media.<\/p>\n

The driver was reported to be a 48-year-old man.<\/p>\n

He has been detained, according to local media reports.<\/p>\n

Cops are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the authorities.<\/p>\n
