{"id":166950,"date":"2025-06-08T06:44:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-08T06:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/166950\/"},"modified":"2025-06-08T06:44:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-08T06:44:10","slug":"germany-reaffirms-strong-support-to-india-in-fight-against-terrorism-fm-wadephul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/166950\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany reaffirms strong support to India in fight against terrorism: FM Wadephul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Germany reaffirmed its strong support and solidarity with India in the fight against terrorism, Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told an Indian parliamentary delegation that outlined New Delhi&#8217;s resolve to not give in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/india-will-never-give-in-to-nuclear-blackmail-jaishankar\/article69638674.ece\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">nuclear blackmail by Pakistan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As the delegation visited the European country, it conveyed to German political and diplomatic leadership India&#8217;s unwavering united stand for zero-tolerance for terrorism, especially in the wake of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/topic\/pahalgam-terror-attack-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img src-template=\"https:\/\/th-i.thgim.com\/public\/incoming\/vzdjx6\/article69668239.ece\/alternates\/SQUARE_80\/2025-05-12T194104Z_866684782_RC2IGEAAF3GS_RTRMADP_3_USA-TRUMP-SAFRICA-WHITES.JPG\" data-original=\"https:\/\/th-i.thgim.com\/public\/incoming\/vzdjx6\/article69668239.ece\/alternates\/SQUARE_80\/2025-05-12T194104Z_866684782_RC2IGEAAF3GS_RTRMADP_3_USA-TRUMP-SAFRICA-WHITES.JPG\" alt=\"\" data-device-variant=\"SQUARE~SQUARE~SQUARE~SQUARE\" class=\"media-object lazy adaptive placeholder lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The delegation, led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, concluded its visit to Germany on Saturday (June 7, 2025), with the Indian Embassy stating that New Delhi&#8217;s firm and principled position against terrorism \u201cfound resonance across the top political leadership, decision-makers and think-tanks \u2014 reinforcing depth of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership.\u201d \t <\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday evening, the delegation called on Minister Wadephul, who, building on his recent meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, \u201ccondemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and reaffirmed Germany\u2019s strong support and solidarity with India, in the fight against terrorism,\u201d said a post on X by the Indian Embassy in Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>Both sides \u201cdiscussed ways to further strengthen &amp; deepen multi-faceted India-Germany Strategic Partnership and reiterated their commitment to a rule-based international order, based on shared democratic values,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe underscored the significant threat terrorism poses to democracy, humanity, and human rights, and expressed grave concern over Pakistan-sponsored terrorism,\u201d MR. Prasad said on X after the meeting. \u201cEmphasising the need for collective action, we stressed that democratic nations must unite to counter this menace.\u201d \t <\/p>\n<p>The discussions also focused on enhancing and deepening the multi-faceted India-Germany Strategic Partnership, built on a shared commitment to upholding a rules-based international order rooted in democratic values, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation had earlier interacted with key members of the German Bundestag (MdBs) in charge of foreign and security policy, such as Jurgen Hardt, Foreign Policy Spokesperson of CDU, and Tilman Kuban, as well as leading think-tanks in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey emphasised India\u2019s message of zero-tolerance against terrorism. The delegation conveyed that India\u2019s response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack had been precise, measured and non-escalatory. They also explained India&#8217;s clear position that there is no differentiation between terrorists and those who aid or shelter them,\u201d the Indian Embassy said.<\/p>\n<p>During an interaction with leaders and key representatives of the Indian community in Germany, the multi-party parliamentary delegation appreciated the support and solidarity shown by the Indian diaspora in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe participants observed two-minute silence in solemn memory of the victims and pledged to remain united against the menace of terrorism,\u201d the Indian Embassy said in another post on X.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Prasad said the Indian community in Berlin displayed &#8220;immense enthusiasm, drawing inspiration from India&#8217;s growth story and its unwavering stance against terrorism&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our visit to Germany was highly successful, with Germany strongly condemning terrorism.
