Nintendo gamers have largely missed out on FromSoftware\u2019s games. Now, not one but two of the Dark Souls developer\u2019s titles will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2.<\/p>\n
During the new console\u2019s Nintendo Direct Wednesday, we learned that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is headed to Nintendo Switch 2, which releases on June 5th of this year.<\/p>\n
More exciting is the big reveal of The Duskbloods, a new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive that looks, for all intents and purposes, like the spiritual successor to Bloodborne. The game has vampires, lots of moon references, and a style that hovers somewhere between Dark Souls and the popular (and sequelless) PlayStation exclusive. Only this time there appear to be dinosaurs – and jetpacks.<\/p>\n

As you can see, the Nintendo Switch 2 is clearly a step up from its predecessor but not up to par with the competition in the graphics department. The graphics here are a far cry from Elden Ring, looking more like games FromSoftware was putting out last generation. I\u2019m not particularly concerned about that. The Japanese studio\u2019s strong point isn\u2019t graphics, however gorgeous Elden Ring was, but rather gameplay. And this looks to have that signature Souls flavor both in terms of combat and cryptic storytelling.<\/p>\n

Now for the disappointing news. The game is described as a multiplayer title. The press release reads:<\/p>\n
\n Developed for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2; ‘THE DUSKBLOODS\u2019 is a PvPvE title with online multiplayer at its core, where up to 8 players vie for supremacy among themselves and against challenging foes.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
\n Play as the “Bloodsworn”; a group that has transcended human strength thanks to their special blood, and throw yourself into a violent fray for “First Blood” as the twilight of humanity approaches.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Hopefully we get a proper Bloodborne 2 down the road. And a PC version. The Duskbloods will release in 2026.<\/p>\n
