We are one of the few local authorities offering training and upskilling opportunities funded by Section 106 developer contributions.<\/p>\n<p>Fantastic opportunity\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mar-b:-2\">Councillor Emma Daniel, Cabinet member for Children, Families and Youth Services, said: \u201cI encourage all construction workers\u00a0in Brighton &amp; Hove to take advantage of this fantastic career development opportunity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mar-b:-2\">\u201cFunding is available to support workers at different stages in their careers across a range of subjects including health, safety and wellbeing, leadership and management and on-site operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mar-b:-2\">\u201cBy investing in training and qualifications, we can ensure that the city\u2019s construction sector has the skills, knowledge and expertise needed to thrive, both now and in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mar-b:-2\">Richard, a self-employed trade who previously received funding through the scheme, said: \u201cI was delighted that the Local Employment Scheme for Construction was able to provide funding to enhance my current qualifications and experience to achieve a professional electrical qualification.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mar-b:-2\">\u201cThis will enable me to obtain a Gold Card by the end of the year.
