{"id":169040,"date":"2025-06-09T01:39:27","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T01:39:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/169040\/"},"modified":"2025-06-09T01:39:27","modified_gmt":"2025-06-09T01:39:27","slug":"live-updates-for-june-9-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/169040\/","title":{"rendered":"live updates for June 9 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>China Shenzhen<\/p>\n<p>Real444 | E+ | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Asian markets climbed Monday as investors awaited trade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/06\/trump-trade-china-talks-tariffs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">talks between Washington and Beijing<\/a> later in the day, with focus also on key China data.<\/p>\n<p>Trade tensions are seemingly easing between the world&#8217;s top two economies as China has reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/autos-transportation\/china-issues-rare-earth-licenses-suppliers-top-3-us-automakers-sources-say-2025-06-06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">granted temporary approvals<\/a> for the export of rare earths, while jetliner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/BA\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boeing Co<\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/aerospace-defense\/boeing-prepares-resume-plane-deliveries-china-tariff-war-eases-2025-06-06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">begun commercial jet deliveries<\/a> to the Asian superpower.<\/p>\n<p>China is slated to release a slew of data, including its consumer and wholesale inflation readings for May. Economists polled by Reuters expect consumer prices to have fallen by 0.2% year on year, while PPI is forecast to have declined by 3.2% from a year earlier.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s benchmark\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nikkei 225<\/a>\u00a0advanced 0.91% in early trade, while the broader Topix index rose 0.61%.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s GDP contraction for the <a href=\"#108156284-post\">January to March quarter narrowed to an annualized 0.2%<\/a>, from the 0.7% print released previously, revised estimates showed.<\/p>\n<p>In South Korea, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kospi<\/a>\u00a0index climbed 1.55%\u00a0while the small-cap Kosdaq added 0.21%.<\/p>\n<p>Futures for Hong Kong&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hang Seng index<\/a> stood at 23,801 pointing to a marginally higher open compared to the HSI&#8217;s Friday close of 23,792.54.<\/p>\n<p>Australian markets are closed for a public holiday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/08\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. equity futures<\/a> were mostly flat in early Asian trade.<\/p>\n<p>All three key benchmarks on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/05\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wall Street jumped last Friday<\/a>, after the non-farm payrolls data came in better-than-expected.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. payrolls\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/06\/06\/jobs-report-may-2025.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climbed 139,000 in May<\/a>, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday, above the Dow Jones forecast of 125,000 for the month but less than the downwardly revised 147,000 in April.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0popped 443.13 points, or 1.05%, to close at 42,762.87.
