Both times fortunes went down for the man on top.<\/p>\n<p>Djokovic clinched a five-set epic, then Alcaraz did just that too on Sunday &#8211; retaining his French crown via the longest-ever Roland Garros final.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, fans couldn&#8217;t resist making creepy comparisons.<\/p>\n<p>One wrote: &#8220;If it&#8217;s not a cursed finger again&#8221; as the Italian went on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/sport\/35315082\/french-open-final-alcaraz-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lose 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6<\/a> in five hours and 29 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old might also have thought the spirits were against him for another reason &#8211; during the fourth set.<\/p>\n<p>Novak Djokovic digs out French Open rival for &#8216;spying&#8217; on him and seeing Champions League trophy <\/p>\n<p>He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/sport\/35316113\/jannik-sinner-carlos-alcaraz-french-open-sportsmanship-fail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sportingly gave up a point<\/a> after telling the chair umpire an Alcaraz shot had wrongly been called out.<\/p>\n<p>But replays showed line judges had been right to call it long. <\/p>\n<p>Three-time Slam winner Sinner admitted afterwards it was tough to speak after losing from such a strong position. <\/p>\n<p>The rueful runner-up said: &#8220;It&#8217;s easier to play than talk now.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m still happy with this trophy &#8211;
