They woke up the nation with breaking news from Los Angeles as protests flared up again as demonstrators against immigration raids face off with law enforcement for a third say.<\/p>\n
Protesters gathered in downtown LA have been told to leave immediately by police hours after officers dispersed demonstrators blocking a major freeway in the city.<\/p>\n
National Guard units deployed by President Donald Trump use tear gas to force back protesters.<\/p>\n
Journalist Noel Phillips, North America Correspondent for ITV, reported live from LA and during his segment loud bangs could be hear in the background.<\/p>\n Noel told the camera: “As you cans see police are now trying to get these protestors off the streets, Ranvir. We’re going to try and bring you more a little later on.”<\/p>\n Discussing the latest news, Ranvir shared: And just to be clear, my producer was telling me that was fireworks because of course there’s several cameras there.<\/p>\n “Just wanted to make that clear because for you because obvciously alarming to hear that kind of sound.”<\/p>\n Susanna later asked Noel if he was ok as the programme crossed over to America to find the latest developments.<\/p>\n Noel assured that he was fine an went on to give a detailed report about what exactly was going on.<\/p>\n The journalist spoke to people on the streets and Richard and Susanna urged him to “stay safe” as his news report came to an end.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the morning programme, presenter Richard revealed that he sustained a double wrist fracture in France over the weekend.<\/p>\n “That looks sore,” his co-star Susanna said as she noted a cast on Richard’s wrist.<\/p>\n “Yeah, it’s a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday,” Richard explained.<\/p>\n “The pavement was loose and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, ‘Am I gonna win or is gravity gonna win?’ And gravity won, and I hit the ground hard.
