Four people have been arrested with a murder probe underway<\/p>\n

The schoolboy at the centre of a murder investigation in north Manchester has been named.<\/p>\n

Tributes are being paid to Ibrahima Seck at the scene of a stabbing in New Moston<\/a> yesterday (June 8).<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called out to Nevin Road at around 5pm following reports of a serious assault.<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> said the victim, a 14-year-old boy, had suffered stabbed wounds.<\/p>\n

He was rushed to hospital but tragically died despite the best efforts of emergency services, including an air ambulance team.<\/p>\n

Investigations into Ibrahima’s death are ongoing today (Monday), with a cordon in place outside the nearby Fairway Inn, on Broadway.<\/p>\n

Witnesses described seeing Ibrahima run for help towards Nevin Road on Sunday evening, before locals rushed to his aid.<\/p>\n

Manchester Coroner’s Office confirmed it had received a file for Ibrahima following yesterday’s tragic events.<\/p>\n

Flowers have been left for Ibrahima, while a photo of him has been posted at the scene.<\/p>\n

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident. Two boys, aged 14 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of murder.<\/p>\n

A 14-year-old girl and a 37-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector John Charlton said: \u201cThis incident will have shocked and saddened the local community, and distressed anyone who witnessed it.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are deploying significant resources to this murder investigation, and this led to quickly identifying potential suspects.<\/p>\n

“We are still trying to establish the full circumstances around the incident \u2013 there will be a large police presence and several scenes in place while we continue to investigate this horrific incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe boy’s family are being supported by our officers and we are determined to give them the answers they deserve.<\/p>\n

“Despite making several arrests, this is still a live investigation, and we are looking for information, doorbell or dashcam footage, or eye-witness accounts from anyone who was in the area at the time quoting log 2250 of 8\/6\/25.<\/p>\n
