for their European adventure(Image: Alasdair MacLeod\/Ayrshire Post)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Two young Scots are to represent Great Britain at a top fitness event on the continent this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Ayrshire&#8217;s Brodie McKenzie, 15, and Anna Jamieson, 11, are the only athletes from north of the border heading to the European Functional Fitness Championships in Holland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Both train out of eeVo Training in Prestwick and will compete against more than 300 athletes from 26 European nations in one of the sport\u2019s most competitive events.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Functional Fitness is the structured, sport-governed version of CrossFit \u2013 combining strength, endurance, power, skill, and gymnastics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Events are judged to international standards and provide a clear competitive pathway to European and World Championships.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The girls qualified for the GB squad after finishing in the top three at the British Functional Fitness Trials in Sheffield earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The gym\u2019s Liam Walker told <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/ayrshire\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Ayrshire Live:<\/a> \u201cAnna currently trains in eeVo\u2019s Kids Programme and will soon transition into the Teens pathway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cBrodie has been a part of the eeVo Teens Programme since starting secondary school and continues to develop as one of the gym\u2019s most consistent young athletes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cBoth girls are proudly following in the footsteps of two of their coaches at eeVo \u2013 Kirstin Walker and Alexa Ferguson \u2013 who have represented Team GB at the Functional Fitness World Championships for the past two years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThis is a major moment for both athletes and a proud milestone for the Ayrshire
