{"id":170205,"date":"2025-06-09T12:16:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-09T12:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/170205\/"},"modified":"2025-06-09T12:16:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-09T12:16:09","slug":"gyokeres-faces-quick-decision-amid-new-offer-as-romano-reveals-red-devils-transfer-game-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/170205\/","title":{"rendered":"Gyokeres faces quick decision amid new offer as Romano reveals Red Devils&#8217; transfer game plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man Utd have continued talks over a possible deal for Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils had a nightmare season in the Premier League with Ruben Amorim\u2019s side finishing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/premier-league\/table\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>15th in the table<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and failed to qualify for Europe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/manchester-united\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Man Utd<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0had a last-gasp chance to qualify for next season\u2019s Champions League but blew it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/opinion-16-conclusions-spurs-manchester-united-europa-league-amorim-postecoglou\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>when they\u00a0lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final last month<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their awful season, INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have decided to stick with Amorim as they head into the summer and then next campaign.<\/p>\n<p>They want to provide the former Sporting CP head coach with the tools to be able to implement his style of play effectively and they will back him in the transfer market.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/every-premier-league-transfer-release-completed-summer-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Man Utd have already brought in Wolves forward Matheus Cunha for \u00a362.5m<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0as they look to improve his attack, while Brentford\u2019s Bryan Mbeumo is another player they have made two bids for.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/summer-transfer-rumours-power-ranking-arsenal-liverpool-man-utd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transfer rumour power ranking: Man Utd striker boost as Arsenal targets climb<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sporting CP striker Gyokeres has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, due to his connection with Amorim, but it was thought that he wouldn\u2019t be interested in a move without Champions League football football.<\/p>\n<p>However, former\u00a0CBS Sports\u00a0journalist Ben Jacobs revealed on Thursday that the Sweden international is \u201cvery keen\u201d on a transfer to Man Utd despite the lack of European football next term.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.football365.com\/news\/man-utd-transfers-gyokeres-very-keen-way-to-do-deal-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jacobs told\u00a0The United Stand<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cMy understanding is that Viktor Gyokeres would be very keen on a move to Man United if they could pull that off, financially speaking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think Gyokeres would be on \u00a3300,000 a week or more.
