We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"sc-1uza6dc-1 huxBsk\">Your support makes all the difference.<\/strong>Read more<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/susanna-reid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Susanna Reid<\/a> supported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/richard-madeley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richard Madeley<\/a> on Monday\u2019s edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/good-morning-britain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Good Morning Britain<\/a> (9 June) after he revealed that he had recently suffered a painful injury. <\/p>\n<p>The show began as usual, with Reid introducing the show before cutting to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/books\/features\/richard-madeley-novel-fathers-day-accidental-partridge-b2554641.html\">Madeley<\/a>, who was wearing a cast on his wrist. \u201cRichard, you better explain \u2013 that looks sore,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Madeley jokingly replied: \u201cI thought you were gonna say, &#8216;Did I have a good break?&#8217; Yeah, it&#8217;s a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/health\/nhs-fracture-metal-plate-buckle-review-xray-patients-physio-broken-bone-arm-shin-thigh-a8775721.html\">double fracture of the wrist.<\/a> I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pavement was loose and it flipped up and it flipped me forward, and I thought, &#8216;Am I gonna win or is gravity gonna win?&#8217; And gravity won, and I hit the ground hard. So yeah, I&#8217;ve got a double fracture and we&#8217;ll see how it goes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When Reid asked him if the injury was sore at the present moment, he quipped: \u201cI&#8217;m not discussing the pain threshold. We don&#8217;t think about pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;OK, we&#8217;re just going to distract ourselves. In <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/arts-entertainment\/tv\/news\/richard-madeley-gmb-good-morning-britain-b2243378.html\">December 2022,<\/a> while presenting live from Whiston Hospital in Merseyside, the broadcaster said that he had managed to slip over when getting out of his car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI fell over this morning getting out of the car,\u201d the host told viewers. His co-presenter, Kate Garraway, added: \u201cIt was very tense.\u201d Despite worrying those around him, Madeley appeared to have no injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the episode, comedian-turned-artist Jim Moir, best known by his stage name Vic Reeves, appeared on the series and showed off his ability to change bed sheets in eight seconds.
