A car ploughed into a bus stop before uncontrollably hitting a building in a horror collision in south Manchester on Monday night (June 9).<\/p>\n

Police, paramedics and fire crews raced to the scene on Slade Lane in Longsight<\/a> at around 8.30pm. The road was taped off with a huge cordon put in place.<\/p>\n

Part of nearby Stockport<\/a> Road was also blocked, with the police tape stretching over the Slade Lane Community Garden amid investigations.<\/p>\n

Pictures from the scene showed a number of ambulance vehicles in attendance, along with incident response units, police vans and the fire service.<\/p>\n

It was reported that a car had struck a bus stop before ploughing into a commercial building, thought to be a shop. Images taken of the aftermath appear to show the car in the centre of the large cordon.<\/p>\n

Witnesses claimed to have seen at least one casualty being treated on the ground at the scene by responding paramedics. Further details have not yet been confirmed.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said, \u201cAt around 8:30pm this evening (Monday, 9th June), firefighters were called to reports of a crash on Stockport Road in Longsight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree fire engines from Gorton<\/a> and Ashton<\/a> fire stations quickly arrived at the scene, where a car had crashed into a bus stop and a commercial building.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrews remain in attendance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have been approached for comment.<\/p>\n
