{"id":171723,"date":"2025-06-10T01:39:11","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T01:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/171723\/"},"modified":"2025-06-10T01:39:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T01:39:11","slug":"nico-parker-reacts-to-race-trolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/171723\/","title":{"rendered":"Nico Parker Reacts to Race Trolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/nico-parker\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nico-parker_1\" data-tag=\"nico-parker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nico Parker<\/a> is speaking out about social media reaction to the actress\u2019 casting as Astrid in the live-action remake of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/train-dragon\/\" id=\"auto-tag_train-dragon_1\" data-tag=\"train-dragon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to Train Your Dragon<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn an interview with British publication <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/life-style\/celebrity\/article\/nico-parker-how-to-train-your-dragon-l0pswgjnj\">The Times<\/a>, Parker was asked about <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/how-to-train-your-dragon-live-action-trailer-1236066810\/\">online trolls grousing<\/a> that the actress does not have blonde hair and blue eyes, as Astrid was initially depicted in the animated films that launched with 2010\u2019s original How to Train Your Dragon. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/universal-pictures\/\" id=\"auto-tag_universal-pictures_1\" data-tag=\"universal-pictures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universal Pictures<\/a> releases the remake of the DreamWorks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/animation\/\" id=\"auto-tag_animation_1\" data-tag=\"animation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Animation<\/a> hit movie in theaters Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s some people that really love the animated movies and really want to see an exact play-by-play of that film, and I hope that you can watch [the new version] and find something that you love about it, regardless,\u201d Parker said. \u201cBut for the people that just hate inclusivity, hate change \u2014 when it comes to that side of things, I just don\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe 20-year-old performer continued, \u201cIf I wouldn\u2019t value your opinion on most things in life, I can\u2019t value your opinion on my hair. But I think that everything\u2019s changing. I\u2019d like to think that I could contribute to that change at some point.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWriter-director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/dean-deblois\/\" id=\"auto-tag_dean-deblois_1\" data-tag=\"dean-deblois\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dean DeBlois<\/a>\u2018 new How to Train Your Dragon features Mason Thames as Hiccup, who develops a friendship with dragon Toothless. America Ferrera\u00a0voiced Astrid in the original animated trilogy that last hit screens with 2019\u2019s How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tDuring a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/how-to-train-your-dragon-live-action-remake-full-trailer-1236133584\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press event earlier this year<\/a>, DeBlois noted that Astrid \u201cwas a little underserved\u201d in the original movie. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cNico Parker plays Astrid, [and] that feeds into this idea that she has come from a different culture, that she is a descendant of one of those prized dragon-fighting warriors that were collected by Vikings in different places,\u201d the filmmaker said at the time. \u201cShe hopes to be chief of this tribe one day.
