Jannik Sinner was seen shouting at his coach on Sunday as he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the French Open at Roland Garros.<\/p>\n

The Italian had secured a two-set lead but ended up throwing it away, with Alcaraz mounting a sensational comeback to claim the fifth Grand Slam title of his career.<\/p>\n

It was a disappointing defeat for Sinner, who had been hoping to win the tournament for the first time.<\/p>\n

And as the match started to slip away from him, the 23-year-old’s frustrations started to boil over.<\/p>\n

During the fifth and final set, Sinner was seen shouting in the direction of his box – where coaches Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill were set.<\/p>\n

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the world No 1 was heard shouting: “I hit hard but he returns hard, damn it.”<\/p>\n

Alcaraz had appeared down and out after losing the first two sets.<\/p>\n

However, he showed all the qualities of a champion as he recorded a 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2) victory to win the French Open for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n

Many expect Sinner and Alcaraz to dominate tennis for many years ahead.<\/p>\n

John McEnroe, however, isn’t sure whether they’ll be able to win over 20 majors each.<\/p>\n

Reacting to Sunday’s enthralling final, the former tennis star said: “You would make a serious argument with both guys that they would be favoured to beat [Rafael] Nadal, at his best.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo I think they\u2019re gonna reach 20, 24 [Grand Slam titles] \u2014 either one of them? No, because that plateau is so hard.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut these two guys right now, it\u2019s like when you watch the NBA and you say nobody could be better than Michael Jordan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe tennis level right now is higher than I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tim Henman and Mark Petchey have also provided their verdicts on the duo.<\/p>\n

Henman praised the spectacle that fans in Paris were treated to, with the former British No 1 stating: \u201cWhen you\u2019ve got the two top two going head to head, it doesn\u2019t always live up to the hype, but that is one of the best, one of the greatest matches I\u2019ve ever seen.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd to have it in a Grand Slam final is something special. <\/p>\n

“Spare a thought for Jannik Sinner. He played some amazing tennis and got oh so close.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for Petchey, who coaches Raducanu, he added: \u201cIt was just an awesome, awesome display of tennis and athleticism.<\/p>\n
