The chatbot responded with a \u201cHmm\u2026something seems to have gone wrong\u201d error message to my colleague after failing to load, and users across <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/0xweb3diva\/status\/1932364866221690971\">X<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ChatGPT\/new\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a> are reporting platform outages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Downdetector is showing that <a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.com\/status\/openai\/?nogeo=true&amp;_gl=1*z2a9pv*_ga*MjE0MDE3ODMzNy4xNzQ4OTM1ODAz*_ga_0PZM58H213*czE3NDk1NDY0MjUkbzMkZzEkdDE3NDk1NDcwNjYkajU3JGwwJGgw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">issues started at around 3AM ET<\/a>, with multiple regions impacted globally. <a href=\"https:\/\/status.openai.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OpenAI\u2019s own status page<\/a> says that some users started experiencing \u201celevated error rates and latency\u201d at that time, noting that the issues were affecting ChatGPT, its Sora text-to-video AI tool, and OpenAI APIs. As of 5:23AM ET, OpenAI has added a separate line for \u201celevated error rates on Sora\u201d and later updated the ChatGPT status to \u201cpartial outage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">Some users are able to access ChatGPT, but finding that the service is sluggish and taking much longer than usual to respond. Others like myself are able to use the chatbot without any issues, so the outages and errors don\u2019t seem to be impacting every user.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">OpenAI says it\u2019s \u201ccontinuing to investigate this issue.\u201d It\u2019s unclear what is causing the outages, or when regular service will be restored.
