People who are about to jet off on holiday to places like Spain, France and Greece have been told “you need” to know this before setting off. Millions of people from the UK go on holidays to these countries, as well as other nations across the EU, and further afield.<\/p>\n

And in a new post on Instagram, travel experts from Which? are urging people to familiarise themselves with a key number before they go. The update is captioned: “Off on holiday? Here’s who to call if something goes wrong…<\/p>\n

“We’ve rounded up the key emergency contact numbers for top travel destinations. And before you jet off, make sure your travel insurance is just as prepared as you are.” In its list of “emergency numbers you need before travelling”, Which? goes on to explain that for any EU country, the number you’ll need to call, should the worst happen, is 112.<\/p>\n

For the USA it’s 911, while for UAE, including Dubai, it’s 999 or 998 for police or ambulance, respectively. Canada is also 911, while Australia’s emergency number is 000. For Japan it’s 110 for police and 119 for ambulance, while in both Turkey and South Africa you need to dial 112.<\/p>\n
