{"id":173219,"date":"2025-06-10T15:03:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T15:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/173219\/"},"modified":"2025-06-10T15:03:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T15:03:10","slug":"the-tournament-which-novak-djokovic-is-now-being-predicted-to-retire-at-which-is-under-a-year-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/173219\/","title":{"rendered":"The tournament which Novak Djokovic is now being predicted to retire at which is under a year away"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Novak Djokovic has again fallen just short of a record 25th Grand Slam, having reached the semi-finals of the French Open.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/opinion\/a-tennis-miracle-was-completed-in-paris-which-means-fans-of-the-sport-no-longer-need-to-worry-at-all\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tennis is in safe hands despite Djokovic\u2019s likely impending retirement<\/a>, with the Serbian having turned 38 last month.<\/p>\n<p>But the veteran made it all the way to the final four at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/french-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">French Open<\/a>, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/who-is-novak-djokovic-step-inside-the-life-of-the-grand-slam-champion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Djokovic<\/a> was beaten by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATP<\/a> number one Jannik Sinner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/andy-roddick-says-if-novak-djokovic-has-any-chance-of-winning-wimbledon-this-year-i-am-going-to-say-this-right-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Roddick thinks Djokovic can win Wimbledon<\/a>, with the grass court event the next Grand Slam in the calendar.<\/p>\n<p>He has risen one place to fifth in the world rankings following Roland Garros, having also reached the semi-finals of the 2025 Australian Open.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2218981281-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"2025 French Open - Day Thirteen\" class=\"wp-image-99512\" \/>Photo by Franco Arland\/Getty ImagesRennae Stubbs predicts the tournament which Novak Djokovic could retire at<\/p>\n<p>But talk of the veteran hanging up his racket has not gone away despite his recent lengthy runs at Grand Slam level.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing her verdict, former player <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/rennae-stubbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rennae Stubbs<\/a> said on The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast: \u201cI think that is the last we are going to see at the French Open. I just think Novak saw a little bit of the end of the road going that I played really well and I did not win a set.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are little things that Novak did in the semi-final which also showed a little bit of that age and his drop in level ever so slightly and Sinner\u2019s ability. His level is just higher now on a consistent basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNovak made errors at times you just don\u2019t normally see it in those moments years ago. Normally if he is going to miss it\u2019s by an inch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou just see him missing balls that he does not miss usually and I just think Father Time has caught up with him in that respect and he maybe sees the end of the road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNovak Djokovic does not want to lose in quarters and semis at Grand Slams.
