THE Rolling Stones are working on a new album after dropping plans for a massive summer tour, The Sun can reveal.<\/p>\n

Sir Mick Jagger<\/a>, Keith Richards<\/a> and Ronnie Wood<\/a> have been in the recording studio since April.<\/p>\n

They have laid down 13 songs and are in discussions over a release date for their 25th studio album.<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s last\u00a0album, Hackney Diamonds, their first\u00a0original work in 18 years, went straight to No1 following its release in 2023.<\/p>\n

Sir Mick and Keith, both 81, and Ronnie, 78, have been holed up in West London\u2019s Metropolis Studios.<\/p>\n

A source said: \u201cMick, Keith and Ronnie have been secretly recording their new record with their drummer Steve Jordan.<\/p>\n

“They\u2019ve got 13 songs they\u2019re happy with and they are discussing when they can release it.<\/p>\n

\u201cOriginally, the plan was for them to bring their huge US tour to the UK and Europe<\/a> this summer<\/a> but promoters couldn\u2019t get the dates to work.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead the Stones decided to get back into the studio and put down their next album. It\u2019s massive for their fans who didn\u2019t get a chance to see them live this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is understood the It\u2019s Only Rock \u2019n Roll stars have teamed up again with producer Andrew Watt, who worked on Hackney Diamonds.<\/p>\n

Keith, who has a house in West Sussex<\/a>, has been staying \u00a0at London<\/a> hotel The Dorchester so he can be closer to the studio.<\/p>\n

An insider added: \u201cKeith loves The Dorchester. It\u2019s costing him a packet to stay there but it\u2019s perfect for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

In November, to mark Ronnie\u2019s 50th anniversary of joining the Stones, the band plans to release a remastered edition of its 1976 Black and Blue album, featuring two new\u00a0tracks.<\/p>\n
