Within two weeks of the appointment she was admitted to the breast clinic at Aintree Hospital, where her worst fears came true.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/mum-living-best-life-whole-31510789\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacqui previously told the ECHO<\/a>: \u201cOne year ago (April 25, 2024) they told me after I had a mammogram and biopsy that it was breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cWhen I look back I can\u2019t even remember the conversation or being told, it was all a blur. I went in [to the appointment] thinking it was nothing, thinking it was just a cyst. I had no other<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/health\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> signs of breast cancer<\/a>. I was<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/health\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> happy and healthy<\/a>, living my best life, then I got told this.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cI came out of the hospital and I was floored. My whole world fell apart, I was scared, frightened &#8211; I was just like \u2018why me?\u2019 I have two children, how do I tell them? How do I tell my partner, family, friends, what do I do about work?<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cMy whole world fell apart and I went into a dark place. I remember people were reaching out to me but I didn&#8217;t want to speak to anyone because of what I was going through.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/1749586570_441_0_Mum-of-two-Jacqui-Johnson-was-told-she-had-cancer-last-April.jpg\" alt=\"Jacqui Johnson was told she had cancer last April\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Jacqui Johnson was told she had cancer last April(Image: Jacqui Johnson)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/mum-living-best-life-whole-31510789\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Following the diagnosis Jacqui<\/a>, who has two children, Freya 24 and Ethan 19, underwent a mastectomy and six months of chemotherapy, which she said was \u201ctough&#8221;. Thankfully, the treatment worked and the mum-of-two rang the bell earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In a bid to thank the nurses and staff who supported her through the cancer battle<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/mum-living-best-life-whole-31510789\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">, Jacqui teamed up with Sutcliffe Charity<\/a>, where she works, to put on a charity ball where she raised an incredible \u00a389,000 to be donated to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/clatterbridge-hospital\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Clatterbridge<\/a> Cancer Charity, Liverpool Women\u2019s Hospital Charity and Liverpool University Hospitals Charity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Jacqui had also organised the company&#8217;s charity ball last year and in a heartbreaking twist, just five days after the event she found out the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/news\/liverpool-news\/mum-living-best-life-whole-31510789\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">devastating news she had breast cancer.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">She said: &#8220;Last year little did I know that five days later I would be having this diagnosis, the ball tonight means so much to me because it&#8217;s something that has touched me.
